It is raining in Tokyo at night. A woman, named Kimura Yu, is caught in the rain. She has had lots of trauma in her life, because her parents were killed, and to make things worse she experiences another tragedy, her reliable councilor, Kanzaki, is killed. But Yu is "saved" by a mysterious detective named Takamizawa Kyosuke.

Banyu, a boy with autism spectrum disorder, starts a beautiful friendship with Radin and Kinara. When they all grown up, a tragic event occurred, putting their friendship on the edge of destruction.

Kissing in the Rain follows two sets of actors who keep finding themselves kissing in the rain in scenes from the 1600s-1960s, all while grappling with their off-screen relationships between takes.

Maxwell Slaughter is a kind, heavyset guy who has reached the rank of master sergeant in the army. Admired by handsome young Sgt. Eustis Clay, Slaughter forms a close bond with his peer. Ayako (Sayuri Yoshinaga) is a free-willed college girl who shares a room with Takako and Kimie. They each have a clear vision of what they want from their career and love life. Soon, their room share takes a turn, when ideals begin to clash with reality.
